Eldest Daughter Podcast
Producer—Feb 2026–present
Turned two friends' idea for a show into a finished product — then used early engagement signal to grow it from zero to 1M+ monthly views across socials in a few months.
Challenge#
Eldest Daughter started as an idea between two friends who wanted to make a show — and nothing else. No audience, no format locked in, no production setup, no brand. My job was to turn that idea into a finished product people would actually watch, and then give it the best possible shot at finding an audience from a standing start.
Approach#
I owned the production end to end. I set up the lighting, cameras, and microphones, monitored during recording, and handled all of the post — editing, thumbnails, and the show's branding assets. That let the hosts focus entirely on the conversation while I made sure every episode came out looking and sounding like a real show.
Once episodes were live, I let the audience tell me what was working. I watched the early positive signals closely — shares and saves as signs a clip was worth passing on, and watch time on YouTube as the honest measure of what held attention. Then I ran extensive A/B tests to lock in the details that move those numbers: thumbnail design, fonts, and clip structure. The same signal fed back upstream — what the audience responded to helped shape which episode topics and guests Bailyn pursued next.
Results#
Within a few months of the February 2026 launch, the show reached 1M+ monthly views across socials, split roughly evenly between TikTok and Instagram — all of it earned from zero, on the strength of the format and the optimization rather than any existing following.
